Beg, Scream & Shout

The Shadow Electric continues its commitment to local music and film culture with Beg, Scream and Shout – a showcase of independent and experimental music-based films by Melbourne artists, presented in conjunction with our friends at Sugar Mountain Music Festival.

Sunday’s in the courtyard start early with drinks from 12pm. Kick back with table tennis, scrumptious food from Mr Burger and $5 Moritz beer all day.

Proceedings commence at 6:30pm with a two hour set from psychedelic locals The Merri Creek Pickers. Animations from Ben Montero will accompany this sunset show.

The films then begin with locally produced clips for NO ZU, Love Connection, The Process and Geoffrey O’Conner.

Autonomy and Deliberation, Johann Rashid’s and UV Race‘s film on getting the band back together featuring cameo’s from the likes of Eddy Current Suppression Ring and Dick Diver, will follow.

Ross Vaughan does what he sets out to do with his piece, Fuck You, Art School.

And Mikey Leonard returns with his follow up to 2009’s Blood in the Beard, Tears in the Cock. A hedonistic, musical extravaganza, featuring performances by The Toot Toot Toot’s, The Merri Creek Pickers and Oliver Hunter with a soundtrack punctuated by Pets with Pets and members of The Process.

A panel discussion will be led by Becky Harkins-Cross on DIY filmmaking with directors of the featured films.

The bar will be open to the public from midday for afternoon beers and DJs, but attendance at the festival is by ticket only.

Tickets are $15 Adult/$10 Concession and can be purchased online or at the venue.
